Now that we have thought more about the data, experiences and definitions of estrangement we can move onto how to support young people who are estranged or are becoming estranged and what your next steps could look like.
Language to Identify Estrangement
These are some common phrases from students that might help identify if a student is estranged or becoming estranged. However, please do not assume that because a student has mentioned one or more of the items on the screen that they are definitely estranged. These are suggestive flags that may lead to further conversations or potentially be something you may want to flag as part of your safeguarding procedures within your organisation.
