Estranged Students Resources
During Estranged Students’ Solidarity Week 2022 (21 – 15 Nov),in collaboration with Stand Alone and the Uni Connect Estranged Students Partnership, the SUN hosted the Estranged Students CPD Conference on Thursday 24 November 2022.
We were joined virtually by educational professionals from across England to hear a range of talks aimed at supporting them to understand more about who estranged students are and how to support them when applying to university. Speakers included representatives from UCAS, Student Finance England, Go Higher West Yorkshire, and Stand Alone, in addition to a keynote speech from Emma Platt-Lowe, Chair of the Uni Connect Estranged Students Partnership.
The conference marks the launch of a wider CPD offer and resources which will support the Uni Connect Estranged Students Partnership’s which you can book onto and read about below.

The Uni Connect Estranged and Kinship Students Partnership is committed to raising awareness around kinship care and estrangement. We signpost educational practitioners to the support available, whilst providing resources and CPD.
In collaboration with Stand Alone and Student Finance England, the Estranged and Kinship Students Partnership has developed a guide statement, with an accompanying resource for all Uni Connect Partners.
