Lesson 3: What soft skills are apprenticeship employers looking for?
Now you know the difference between hard skills and soft. Let’s see if you have the right skills for the apprenticeship(s) you might want to do. But how do you know? The only way to write a winning application or to ace an interview is to write about or talk about the skills they are looking for. They will tell you about these things in their job advert and/or job description.
Before completing an application form you should be reading the job advert and/or job description to find the buzz words. These are words they include that describe the person they are looking for.
Below is a job advert, take a look at it and see if you can work out some of the soft skills the successful candidate should have;

Now below are the soft skills highlighted. You will notice that things like IT skills or GCSEs haven’t been included. That is because here we are just interested in the soft skills the employer is looking for, not the hard skills.
