An interview is a conversation between two or more people with a view for the organisation to be able to check a candidate’s suitability for the role while the candidate is able to assess whether the role and organisation is right for them. 

The objectives of an interview are:

• To evaluate the candidate’s suitability.
• To gain additional information from the candidate.
• To provide general information about the organisation to the candidate.
• To create a good image of the company to candidates.

It is an effective tool for selection. It is two-way communication where the information flows in both directions. In this way, the hirer learns about the candidate and the candidate gets a chance to know about the employer.
