On Wednesday 19 April 2023, St Vincent College and Richard Taunton Sixth Form College sent a coach of Level 3 students to the University of Winchester’s UCAS Fair.
Last month, the Southern Universities Network (SUN) hosted its second Empowering Student Voice conference in sunny Dorset. The sun certainly shone for the event (pun intended!): without a cloud in the sky, 40 Year 7-10 student council members from four schools experienced Bournemouth University’s impressive campus in all its glory.

“How many different careers are available in the NHS?” This was one of the first questions the Basingstoke College of Technology Health and Social Care students were asked at a recent workshop they attended at the College. Students’ answers ranged from “50” to “about a 100” careers. They were all surprised when they were informed that there are over 350 different careers in the NHS!
On 1 December 2022, Bournemouth and Poole College’s SUN Progression Mentor organised for the Level 3 Health and Social Care Students to visit AECC University College to take part in their Health Sciences Taster Day.

Within the Southern Universities Network region, many colleges offer higher education (HE) qualifications (Level 4+ courses). These courses can be a great option for students who might not feel ready to go to university straight after finishing college or who would prefer to study in a college setting.
On Thursday 17 March, 25 SUN and Outreach Hub students set out on a trip to Oxford University. It was the most beautiful day, and Oxford looked wonderful in the sunshine.
