EXTENDED ACCESS TO SCHOOLS / GIRLS MENTORING PROJECT
Redbridge Community School
Summary:
Extended Access to Schools: We wanted to provide an opportunity for students to have access to additional tutoring during school holidays to allow their learning to be enriched and supported by their teachers. We aimed to use the project to increase students’ academic learning as well as success in their summer exams (for Year 11).
Girls Mentoring: We wanted to provide bespoke sessions for students to explore the development of curiosity, confidence, independence, aspirations, communication, leadership and other skills crucial to the working world. We opened the programme to a group of students in Year 10 based on a number of criteria, with the hope that these sessions would enhance these skills and qualities and make our girls feel more capable when tackling next academic steps (such as college and university) and the working world.
