Transition to FE

This workshop is designed for Year 10 and 11 students as they start to prepare for education after school. In this session, students will look at Further Education and understand the different qualifications they can choose from. They’ll explore the differences between providers, see how an average timetable and day at college looks, and understand various progression routes. Students will also look at the application process and have a go at writing their personal statements.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

50 minutes delivery followed by 5 minutes for questions and answers.

Our SUN workshops are delivered in person by one of our Project Facilitators.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUR STUDENTS?:

  • Learn the difference between colleges and sixth forms.
  • Explore a typical college timetable to gain a better understanding on how FE differs from school.
  • Understand the support available through FE providers and where to go for more help.

Our interactive presentations aim to inform young people about higher education opportunities and support them to make well-informed decisions about their future education.

All workshops are free, can be integrated into you school day and are delivered by certified SUN facilitators, who are all Enhanced DBS checked.
