Supporting working-class boys in education: Staff CPD with Progressive Masculinity

Location: Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Gateway Building, BH8 8GP

Date: 24 March 2026

Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm

The Progressive Masculinity staff training is a very ‘hands on’ and practical session which presents years of research on the issues boys and young men experience, and how these manifest within a school environment. The second half of the training focuses on solutions to these issues and supports development of behaviour management strategies, schemes of learning, and staff awareness to embed consistently positive messages on masculinity. By the end of the training, staff will possess high impact ‘quick win’ strategies which could be implemented immediately with a minimum of effort, alongside some longer-term strategies.
