Flying Start: Preparing for Your Studies After Year 11

This workshop provides Year 11 students with a range of resources that will support their successful transition from secondary school to post-16 education. Students will explore the importance of their revision and GCSE exams in Year 11, the various Further Education qualification pathways they can choose, what to expect from their first term in Further Education and the variety of support available during this transition.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

50 minutes delivery followed by 5 minutes for questions and answers.

SUGGESTED COHORT SIZE:

1 class (up to 30 students)

Our SUN workshops are delivered in person by one of our Project Facilitators.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUR STUDENTS?:

  • Understand the importance of GCSEs and feel motivated to revise and do their best in their GCSE exams
  • Understand their options for Further Education and be able to make an informed decision on their next steps
  • Learn what to expect from their first term in post-16 education, and recognise the support services available to them during their transition

Our interactive presentations aim to inform young people about higher education opportunities and support them to make well-informed decisions about their future education.

All workshops are free, can be integrated into you school day and are delivered by certified SUN facilitators, who are all Enhanced DBS checked.
