AECC University College
OUTREACH WITH SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
AECC University College’s Access and Participation team sets out to offer outreach activities to reach students from all backgrounds and demonstrate the opportunities higher education (HE) can offer.
We offer a sustained programme from Year 5 through to Year 13 to raise the aspirations of those from under-represented groups, for example neighbourhoods where fewer than average people attend university, or those on lower incomes. We set out to address the obstacles of going to university.
Our particular focus is on demonstrating the opportunities of science-based subjects, specifically biology and other health sciences subjects, raising aspirations as we believe everyone that wants to, should have the opportunity to go to university.
We offer a wide range of activities and events within our outreach programme to support progression to higher education, including:
- On campus lecturers and talks
- Clinic Shadowing Taster Days
- Talks & Information Stand
