Year 9 Residential

The Southern Universities Network (SUN) will be running a Year 9 residential, hosted at Bournemouth University between Wednesday 25 July and Friday 27 July 2018. The residential offers a taste of university life, including the opportunity to stay in student halls of residence. Year 9 students will participate in a fun and interactive programme of activities which will support them in preparing for their futures.

All aspects of the SUN Year 9 Residential, including accommodation, catering and transport, are offered entirely free of charge and paid for by the Southern Universities Network.

  • Participation in fun and interactive activities
  • Workshops to help you think about your future
  • Opportunities to try out university taster sessions
  • A chance to develop existing skills
  • A visit to another university

Travel will be fully funded and paid for by the SUN. Successful applicants will be sent further information nearer the time of the event.

This residential is open to students studying in Year 9 in the 2017/18 academic year.

Places are limited and will be offered to students that meet our eligibility criteria on a first come first served basis.

Please note due to the nature of the funding, this opportunity is only available to young people domiciled in NCOP defined target wards. Your school’s SUN Single Point of Contact will be able to identify these individuals.

We will ask all successful applicants to complete a confidential medical form in order to ensure safety during the residential. Participants will not be permitted to attend the residential without having completed and returned this document with parent/carer consent.
